This brand focuses not only on the incredible vehicles on this trip but also on the friendships made throughout the car community, the people you meet along the way, and how things can change the future. Incredible terrain, we will be capturing epic content with amazing people and documenting this special journey to share with the world how unique the car community is. We will meet with friends, families, sponsors, and whomever we may come across on this journey to capture a true sense of family more than another video about offroad vehicles. We plan to set off on this beautiful adventure, celebrating the wonderful car culture we are involved with.
The focus of our brand is built on the connections that define a journey. Whether it’s the network of roads leading to your destination, or the network of people you meet along the way. The story of our journey begins before we ever got on the road, it starts with a family, a community, inspired by a passion for performance automobiles. My name is Lorenzo Rodriguez, I’m a 17-year-old student entering my senior year in high school. In a year which will be marked by ending a journey, I felt the need to evolve and begin a new one.
As a kid, Sunday drives with my dad were a beloved ritual. These outings weren’t just about the thrill of the road, they were a gateway to a community bonded by a shared passion for cars. Surrounded by his friends from diverse backgrounds and professions, I was struck by their unwavering love for this community, but also by their profound enjoyment for the open road, the allure of the steering wheel.
My parents are both in the car industry and for as long as I can remember they’ve produced the Das Renn Treffen (DRT) in South Florida. A multiday automobile event curated for the Porsche community across the country. I grew up with DRT dedicating hundreds of hours not out of obligation but out of passion for the product and the business. Starting out assisting with product placement to site execution during the event to now providing support with marketing materials, site planning as well as managing sponsor, media, artist and vendor relations. My involvement with the family business has been an education, has defined me and ultimately laid the foundation for what would become a transformative journey, leading me to EST2WST.
The connections made, whether it was on a Sunday drive with my father and his friends, or on the job putting DRT together, those are the connections, the people who I have met that ignited the vision of EST2WST Expeditions. The idea was born from a conversation I had with James Manning as we were discussing the overland modifications I was making to my Porshe Cayenneearlier this year during DRT. James challenged me to drive cross-county and end the journey in Oregon. I saw this as an opportunity to apply all my learnings in experiential marketing and fulfill an ambitious dream.
So, with the unwavering support of my parents, the encouragement of friends and family and the backing of mission-driven organizations we launch EST2WST Expeditions, where we bring a connection filled journey to life. I’m excited to make my next connection and I hope you enjoy the ride.
